UK-German Youth Ambassadors are a network of motivated young people in the UK and Germany who are passionate about the other country and keen to help promote UK-German activities and encourage other young people to get involved. They share their experiences with younger pupils in their school and local area, and help support language and intercultural learning in primary schools.

Youth Ambassadors play an important role in raising the profile of UK-German activity locally and enthusing other young people to find out more and take an interest in the culture and language of the other country. Through this network, they should actively contribute to changing attitudes to and awareness of the other country in their local area, sharing their own experiences, ideas and interests in an engaging and positive way.
Youth Ambassadors meet twice a year (in London and Germany) to develop projects and presentations based on authentic cultural input with designated partners from the other country. Thematic debates on current issues complement their activities and lead to the creation of an online magazine.
The first seminar will take place from 26-28 October 2012 in London and the second seminar will take place from 5-7 July 2013 in Germany. Participation in both seminars is obligatory.
Membership of the Youth Ambassadors network is free. UK-German Connection covers all programme and seminar costs.
You can apply if you are between 15 and 19 years old and still in school, a UK resident, and willing and able to comply with the programme expectations. German language skills are not required for membership.
The application deadline is usually in September each year.
