Jens Lehmann about UK-German Connection

"I'm really delighted that UK-German Connection provides such a fantastic platform for contact between young Germans and Britons. When young people from different countries share their interests and ideas, the barriers start to come down and they can learn so much about each other's country and its people “ and have a lot of fun along the way! So my message to all you young Britons out there is: Go for it, come on board UK-German Connection."

Discover Germany!

"Catherine loved the trip to Germany and learnt a lot from it. It was a real eye-opener to her and she enjoyed speaking German outside of the classroom. She also loved the video and was proud to see her diary entries online! Please let us know about any other future opportunities, as she would love to go again. Thank you."

Primary German Fun Day in Groby Community College, Leicester

"I just wanted to say a really big thanks to everyone, on behalf of the Language College, for a wonderful team effort. The day was extremely successful and hopefully the pupils who took part will have happy memories of their first experience of learning German!"

UK-German Connection partner-finding service

"I have just come back from Berlin. We had a fantastic trip and your help, pointing me the right way to make contact, has been invaluable. My class were able to attend classes in the Leibniz Oberschule one morning and to make contact with their contemporaries “ they also swapped mobile numbers and the German class is hoping to visit us here in London for a day at school some time next year."

The Bears

"Hosting Alex the bear has enhanced our teaching in so many different ways. The main thing has been the motivation and the level of interest of the children. The children were so excited when Alex arrived at our school... and they talked to Alex in German when they have been out at the playground. What more can you ask from children than that they want to carry on learning while it is their playtime? It enabled us particularly to cover all sorts of cross curricular areas... It's just so versatile and it's amazing how children from year three up to year six have been keen to talk to him and relate to Alex in a way that we don't think we anticipated."
