Today, I traveled from London to Rainhill, Merseyside, to stay at Longton Lane Primary School with my new friends.
As I was getting out of my suitcase, all the children started stroking my face and tickling me behind my ears. I knew I would be very welcome here. They all sat down with me and were very excited when listening to my tape.
I taught them some questions and responses in German and we had some fun conversations. They all shouted: "Hallo! Herzlich Willkommen!" ("Hello! Welcome!").
Viele Grüße! Alex, der Bär
Today I was really excited to see Alex the bear who came all the way from London to see us!
Jade, Longton Lane Primary School
Today we had a happy and unexpected surprise. Alex, the voyage bear had come to our school. When I first saw him, I fell in love with him.
Hannah, Longton Lane Primary School
Today we got to know Alex more. He showed us photos of his family and we had a small conversation in German. We were learning vocabulary.
Together with Alex we learned how to say "Opa" and "Oma", which means Granny and Granddad! I also learned how to say 'welcome' in German: "Herzlich Willkommen!'
