Welcome to the fifth edition of our UK-German online magazine!

This time, we got together in London to discuss questions around the topic of globalisation.

The first ideas that came to our minds were: the spread of people and cultures around the world, McDonald's in desert towns, global economic competition, cheaper prices and internet communication. We then started thinking about specific questions we could ask around the theme of globalisation: How do cities and countries change? How do our friendships develop in a faster, smaller world? What does globalisation mean to the economy? How are young people like us affected in their everyday lives?

The Youth Council lies at the heart of UK-German Connection's work. As representatives of the young people in both countries, our task is to work on the future of UK-German youth relations. We think that knowing the stories and ideas of young people from the other country is essential to the good relations we try to establish!
