German Pupil Courses – teacher reference

One of your pupils has applied to UK-German Connection for a place on the German Pupil Courses 2020. Welcome to the teacher reference page and thank you for providing a reference for your pupil.

About the course

There are three courses every summer for 12 pupils and one accompanying teacher each. Two courses are for A-Level (and equivalent) students and one course is for GCSE (and equivalent) pupils. The courses are run by the Pädagogischer Austauschdienst (PAD), which is the German governmental institution in charge of international education at school level, and UK-German Connection has administered the organisation of the courses for UK pupils since 2008.

Please provide us with a reference for your pupil using the downloadable form below, making detailed comments about the pupil’s:

  • interest in the German language and culture, and intercultural skills
  • achievements in German (both spoken and written German)
  • interpersonal and social skills, including his/her ability to work with othersparticipate actively in the course and reliability
  • involvement in any extra-curricular activities

What happens next?

We will contact all applicants in early April and notify them of the outcome of their application. We will also contact reference teachers to notify them of the outcome of their student’s application. The German Pupil Courses will take place in three different locations in Germany in July or August.
